The artist
Tyree Callahan created an entry for the 2012 West Prize competition which is won by popular voting. He used a 1937 Underwood Standard typewriter and modified it by replacing the letters with ink pads and labels creating a machine which effectively paints while it types. I stumbled on
this blog and had to share this conceptual work of art. It really is amazing how out of the box this medium is. In a round about way I also found
Keira Rathbone's work and after I picked my jaw off the floor I realized that this is really happening; typewriter art. It's like back to the future. An old idea used a brand new way. xoxo Agnes
